Friends of Lyngford Park

Dear Parents/Carers

Since September 2014, the members of the Friends of Lyngford Park have being working hard to raise money within the school to purchase items that will benefit the children in their Education and sports setting.

We have had another successful year, raising just over £4,000.  With this money we have purchased wet play equipment for all the classes, school reading books and dictionaries and medals for the sports days. We were also able to make a considerable contribution to the cost of ipads for each class. Without you none of this would have been possible and we thank you for all your support over the last year.

It shows that children learn more when everyone in the school community work together to share their thoughts and opinions on how we can benefit the children. The Friends of Lyngford Park are working hard to give the children the best we can, and the team are working hard arranging events for the next year including discos,  quiz nights and also Christmas and summer fayres where we try and include them as much as possible.

By becoming a member of the Friends of Lyngford Park, you can become an important part of helping us achieve this. And we welcome any new ideas that will benefit all the children.

For those who are able to give a small amount of time, whether it is by joining the committee or becoming a volunteer, the Friends of Lyngford Park offers a social way of getting involved with the school community.  We are always looking for new committee members to join us.  Committee meetings are very informal and held monthly within the school and last about 1 hour.  It gives the committee time to discuss ways to raise money, organise events and work with the teachers to see how the money raised can be best spent within the school to enhance the facilities.

This is a great opportunity to voice your opinions and views. Hopefully after reading this you are able to support us in whatever way you can.  We appreciate that you are busy parents, but every effort goes towards enhancing your child’s school life.

If you would like to speak to someone about becoming involved with the Friends of Lyngford Park, then please email lyngfordpark@educ.somerset.gov.uk or speak to Julie Evemy (Chairman), Shantelle Nichol (Secretary) or anyone else on the committee.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

The Friends of Lyngford Park
