We have vacancies in our Pre-school from this September. Please contact us for further details.
Lime class takes children from 2 years and 6 months old up to the term before they start school, and as mentioned above, from September, we will have vacancies in our setting.
Children can attend for mornings, afternoons or all day. We are registered for 15 hour universal funding and 30 hour childcare places. We also operate a key worker system.
What is it like to be in Lime Class?
The children in the pre-school work in a stimulating, exciting and play based environment. They take part in a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors.
The unit is open plan and shared with the reception class allowing free flow between pre- school children and school age children. All children share a large outdoor area, with access to sand, water construction and bikes. We also plan forest school sessions as part of our outdoor learning.
At Pre-school we aim to:
-Provide a warm, inviting and stimulating learning environment, where the children feel happy and secure and able to achieve their full potential.
-Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum which is based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage, a thorough knowledge of child development, good early years practice and the individual needs of each child.
-To form good relationships with parents and carers, and work together to develop a supportive link between home and pre-school.
What does my child need to bring to pre-school?
Your child will be given the opportunity to participate in different activities, some of which may be messy. We provide aprons and overalls but we ask that the children bring a spare set of clothes for changing if necessary. Also, as we use the outdoor area throughout the year we ask that you send your child in weather sensitive clothes, whether that is warm coat and wellingtons or sun hat and sun cream. Please include nappies and wipes or a change of underwear for your child, as appropriate.
What about eating and drinking?
We operate a cafe system throughout the sessions where the children can help themselves to a choice of fruit and milk or water to drink. All children under 5 years old are eligible for free milk at school once registered with the government site. Please see the link below for further information and to register. If you child is staying for a full day session they will need to bring a packed lunch and drink. We comply with the school's Healthy Eating Policy and ask that you do not include sweets, chocolate bars or fizzy drinks in your child's lunch.
