This term we are learning all about being Adventurers and Explorers. We are looking forward to a enjoyable year filled with lots of exciting learning experiences and challenges.
In the first week of term, we have been working hard and learning the new routines for Year 3 and 4 and learning all about our zones of regulations (green, blue, yellow and red) and the emotions we feel when we are in a particular zone.
Remember, that this half term Outdoor Education is on a Wednesday afternoon so make sure you come prepared and you must all have your PE kits in everyday. In addition Year 3 and 4 will be swimming in the Autumn term starting with Holly.
We will also be holding elections for the school monitoring council, sports council and choosing our Head Boy and Girl and House Captains very soon! If you would like to be part of the monitoring council start thinking about what you can offer as we will be voting for the best candidates.
Welcome to Year 3 and 4

What's it like to be in this class?
The children in Holly, Rowan and Silver Birch have a great imagination and are always keen to share their learning with you. The children are continuously looking to achieve our school values; Team work, Passion, Self – Belief, Determination and Respect. We are well behaved and polite. We help each other when we get stuck and we don't mind making mistakes.
What do we like to do?
We aspire to be the best learners we can be.
How do we make sure the children are learning?
Within our bright and colourful classroom there you will find helpful learning walls. These aid the children as they work and learn. Our Writing and Maths displays show the children their learning steps and objectives. We create and share our Success Criteria at the start of each lesson and refer to them throughout the lessons.
There is regular and often detailed marking of work, including the use of 'next steps' ideas and peer assessment. The children also use green pens to show they have edited their work and used the feedback from teachers to improve their work.
Partnership with Parents
We encourage all support from parents and we are using Class Dojo to share our learning with you. Throughout the school we have an 'open door' policy where parents can feel free to come and discuss their concerns.
