Today is the official launch of the Lyngford Park Primary School Reimagined Landscape Project
The current landscaping around the school is in a very poor condition and beyond the point of renovation to bring it back to a state that adds value to the learning environment. There is now an opportunity to plan a new landscape around the school grounds and put in place a brand new scheme that offers exciting learning opportunities for the children, improved working environment for the staff and enhanced value to the school as a whole.
As a school operating in a deprived area of Taunton, funding is not available for replanting any of the areas that are in a very poor state. The goal of this project is to create a new and interesting landscape at no cost to the school itself.
This project is being led by Martin Avery who is part of the school governing board and owns and runs Avery Gardens.
The project will look to businesses within the local community to help fund the project. At this early stage we already have Avery Gardens and Siam Construction offering significant support.
The first stage of the project is to establish specifically which areas are to be relandscaped and then decide what the overarching design theme will be.
The planned completion date for the new scheme is 31st of March 2020
