On Wednesday 5th February, students in Years 3 and 4 at Lyngford Park Primary School had the privilege of taking part in a special workshop led by Lucy Oates from Somerset Art Works, as part of our Her Ground project in and around Lyngford Park.

The children were provided with a hands-on, creative two-hour session where they explored ideas and shared their thoughts about the natural environment around them. They brainstormed together before designing and creating their own stamps using recycled materials and foam.

The stamps the children created were inspired by nature and their surroundings, focusing on things we treasure in our public spaces, such as wildflowers, trees and the patterns we notice in the environment.

Using these designs, the children printed onto large rolls of paper to create a collaborative piece of artwork. The final pieces will be displayed in school and also at Priorswood Library for the local community to enjoy.
